Still 1.7 million people die every year from a curable disease. The WHO report

The World Health Organization’s (WHO) has issued its yearly report “Global Tuberculosis Control 2010”. Upon the report, the tuberculosis infection rate remained static in 2008 and 2009: up to 9.4 million of people in 2008 and in 2009. The efforts of such countries as India and China have contributed to the stabilization of new cases. However, tuberculosis still kills up to  1.7 million people a year, in spite of being a  curable disease. Could this be stopped? Research in tuberculosis should be encouraged, but as it is point out by the 2010 WHO report the efforts and the involvement of the Goverments to fight TB are also essential.
