Dr. Pere Joan Cardona and his research team from the “Unitat de Tuberculosi Experimental” have been awarded with the first “Ramón Pla Armengol biennial Prize” funded by the “Ramon Pla Armengol Foundation” due to his work to obtain a therapeutic vaccine for tuberculosis and, particularly, for the social impact and transfer component of the initative.
The Prize is worth 40.000 € that will be invested in future experiments to fight against TB.
Barcelona Respiratory Network’s Scientific Committee is the responsible for electing the laureate.
The official prize giving will took place on 13 June 2014 in Caixa Forum in Barcelona, within the Barcelona Respiratory Network Symposium “Personalized Respiratory Medicine. Exploring the Horizon“, patrocined by the B-debate iniciative promoted by Biocat and La Caixa Foundation.
